Day 1: Tokyo to Mt. Fuji's 8th Station
From Tokyo to Mt. Fuji’ s 8th Station
Your adventure begins bright and early at 6:45 AM, when a private bus collects you and your fellow climbers from Tochomae Station in Tokyo, setting course for Mt. Fuji’s Subashiri 5th Station. By the time you arrive, you'll be more than 2,000 meters above sea level, where the air is crisper and the temperature is about 10ºC cooler than in the city. Take a moment to breathe deeply and take in the fresh mountain air—your journey is about to begin.
From the 5th Station, you’ll start your ascent at a measured, steady pace, allowing your body to gradually acclimate to the higher altitude. The weather on Mt. Fuji can change quickly, so you'll need to be prepared for shifting conditions as you hike throughout the day. Regular breaks provide opportunities to recharge, hydrate, and soak in the dramatic scenery around you.
By evening, you’ll reach the 8th Station, where a cozy, no-frills mountain hut offers shelter and warmth. Settle in, enjoy a simple but nourishing dinner, and rest well—tomorrow morning brings the final push to the summit.

Summit & Descent
Sunrise at the Top of Japan
Wake well before dawn—just after midnight—for the final leg of your ascent. Under the starlit sky, you’ll climb steadily toward the summit, each step filled with anticipation. As the horizon begins to glow, and if weather permits, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking sight: the sun rising above a sea of clouds, casting golden light across the landscape below—a moment both humbling and unforgettable.
After soaking in the views from the summit and savoring a hot breakfast, you’ll begin your descent back down the mountain, returning to the Subashiri 5th Station. From there, a private bus will transport you back to Tochomae Station in Tokyo, giving you time to rest and reflect on the incredible experience of conquering Mt. Fuji, Japan’s most iconic peak.
