This interesting full-day tour takes us to the lively Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, situated 110-km from Bangkok in Ratchaburi province. You will take a long tail boat ride through the canals and witness the local communities along the riverbank before visit the floating market at Damnoen Saduak. You will see colorful clad merchants paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruit, vegetables, local snacks, and souvenirs to sell to shoppers on the canal banks or even on the boat. Buy some local snacks, enjoy the view of the many boats find their way along the canals and locals interact with tourists. There is lots of activity and bargaining is part of the fun of the sale. We continue to the River Kwai for lunch near the notorious bridge which was the setting for the war time film ‘The Bridge over the River Kwai’. We will then visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre in an interactive museum, research and information center dedicated to presenting the story of the Thailand-Burma Railway built during the World War II and the immaculately maintained cemetery which contains the graves of an estimated 7,000 Allied POW soldiers who perish their lives being forced building the bridge and constructing the notorious ‘Death Railway’ to Burma. End the trip with the scenic train ride on the Thailand-Burma railway in Kwai Noi before returning to Bangkok.
